Summer has just begun and that means music festivals you have to go to every weekend or so are aplenty. We’re about halfway done with our list being Coachella, Ultra Music Festival, Shaky Beats Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival, Governors Ball and Bonnaroo things of the past but there’s still lots of summer music festival yet to come.
With all these exciting summer festivals here and there and tickets that are not exactly inexpensive, we would like you to have the best time of your lives during these festivals. With this, we just think that it’s just apt for us to let you in some tips on how to dress up for your upcoming music festivals.
Invest in Some Sturdy Footwear
It would be most likely that you will spend more than half of your music festival time either dancing or walking. There’d be moments that you’d make your way through muddy fields, walk along all food stalls, workshops, and other non-music activities, and dance non-stop to sick beats. There is no greater feeling than going through all these without feeling like you’d want to chop off your feet and have it replaced with a new one. This is why our very first tip on how to properly dress up at music festivals is to wear some sturdy and comfy footwear.
Make sure you wear shoes that are sturdy enough to weather any platforms you have to walk on and comfy enough to allow you to walk and dance for hours, painless.
Wear Protection
Two non-negotiables: sunglasses and sunscreen
Sunscreen - We know you’d be checking on weather forecasts before going to the summer festival. You might see that it’s going to be a breezy, windy, day. However, wouldn’t hurt you to bring these three things. After all, isn’t the windy kind of weather more dangerous as you really don’t feel the scorching hot sun roasting your skin causing you some serious sunburns after wards?
Sunglasses - Your pair of sunglasses can be your music festival bestfriend. When the sun is up and the heat is on, it’s just too hard to watch your favorite band own the stage while you squint your eyes at the sun, isn’t it? Wearing your sunglasses could just be your lifesaver during these times. Oh, and one other thing, nobody can tell you have hangover when you wear your sunglasses.
Wouldn’t hurt if you would bring hats and scarves, too.
Look Amazing
If there’s one place where you should showcase your good fashion sense and style, it’s at music festivals. Every corner is an Instagram-worthy place where you can take a selfie, a groupfie, or an OOTD photo. Chances are higher to bump into someone famous or cute at music festivals. More importantly, music festivals are the perfect venue where you can freely express yourself through what you wear. You’re allowed to wear anything under the sun during music festivals, why the hell you would want to wear something less than amazing?
But Prioritize Comfort, Too
Although looking amazing is a top priority, you should also prioritize comfort. Remember that you would be under the sun for most of your time so make sure that you wear something breathable and comfortable that would let you feel fresh for hours (or for days!)
For summer festivals, you wouldn’t want to wear much. Stick to shorts, bikinis, tank tops, and the likes. If you’re going boho, layering soft, flowy, and breathable clothing items would work well, too.
